They use the US Dollar in El Salvador.

While most places accept credit card, it is always a good idea to travel with a little bit of cash, as some places are cash only.

El Salvador uses Type A and Type B power outlets, the same as in the United States and Canada. If you're coming from the U.S., you won't need an adapter since the plugs and voltage are the same. However, if you're coming from Europe or another region with different plug types or voltage, you'll need a plug adapter and possibly a voltage converter.

  • Type A: Two flat parallel prongs
  • Type B: Two flat parallel prongs + a grounding pin

Although walking around this area has gotten a lot safer, we highly recommend renting a car to get you around. The roads do not have sidewalks, and the hills are steep. Uber is also an option in El Salvador, therefore, if you do not rent a car you can get around that way.

Safety in El Salvador has improved significantly in recent years, but it’s still important to stay aware of your surroundings:

  • Tourist areas like El Tunco, El Zonte, and Cerromar are generally safe, but avoid wandering alone late at night.
  • In cities like San Salvador, it's best to take an Uber or taxi instead of walking at night.
  • Stick to well-lit areas and avoid isolated streets or beaches at night.
  • Leave valuables at your accommodation when going out. Avoid flashing expensive jewelry, cameras, or large amounts of cash.

Although we ourselves are animal lovers, pets are not allowed on this property.

No, smoking is not permitted on this property.

No, parties or large events are not permitted on this property. Only registered guests are allowed on the property during your stay.

No, the pool is not heated. However, because El Salvador is hot year round, the pool stays at a fairly warm temperature year round.

It is highly recommended that you do not drink the sink water, as it contains bacterias that can cause illness. We do have a water filtration machine in our house that is located next to the washer and dryer, and this machine has filtered water that is completely safe to drink from.

Yes, it is perfectly safe to brush your teeth with the sink water. As long as you are not consuming it in large amounts, it is okay.

Although the house does not have central AC, we do have AC units installed in every room and the living room, which are controlled by a remote that will be located in every room. Please note - the AC temperature scales are in Celsius

Please only throw toilet paper down the toilet. We are ran by a septic system, and if any items other than toilet paper are thrown down, the pipes will get clogged.

El Salvador has a tropical climate with two main seasons:

  • Dry Season (November - April): Warm, sunny days with little to no rain. Temperatures range from 75-95°F (24-35°C) along the coast. This is the best time for beach activities, surfing, and exploring.
  • Rainy Season (May - October): Expect afternoon or evening showers, but mornings are often sunny. The rain is heavier from August to October, sometimes leading to short-term flooding in certain areas. Temperatures remain warm, around 70-90°F (21-32°C). The landscape is lush and green, making it great for nature lovers.

Yes, mosquitoes and other insects are present, especially in humid and coastal areas. It’s highly recommended to bring and use mosquito repellent, especially during the rainy season.
